Gregory Rowe is the publisher of Fast Draw Media, a website reporting local news in Northeast Texas.
He lives in Wills Point with his wife, Cindy, and daughter, Chloe. He enjoys playing drums, Texas and Mississippi Delta blues, Boston Red Sox baseball, Civil War-era history and deer hunting.
Rowe has a BA in Communication from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. His journalism career spans 20 years and includes most forms of media, but mainly newspaper and radio, primarily in rural communities. Most of his media career was split between The Light and Champion and KDET AM and FM, all in Center, Texas and The Grand Saline Sun in Grand Saline, Texas. He currently teaches Audio Video Production at Ford High School in Quinlan, Texas. He is currently enrolled in the New Media Journalism Master of Arts program at Full Sail Online.
Rowe has long valued the trust readers and listeners in rural communities have placed in local newspapers and radio stations. He believes they are stabilizing factors in many small towns. He believes in the era of the Internet, good online sources of local news are not simply for major cities, but also rural communities like the ones he has served most of his career. Rowe’s goal is for Fast Draw Media to become a trusted source for local news and a stabilizing factor in the communities it serves.
